The new year brings good news for UK recruiters with one in four British workers considering a career change in 2018, according to a new survey by Paymentsense.
Out of the 2000 respondents, one in three Brits admitted to being unhappy in their job, with a quarter looking for a new opportunity. Surprisingly, it isn’t Millennials looking to move on, with the ‘career peak’ happening at 42 years old. Indeed, just 11% of those in their forties say they are passionate about their job and only five per cent care about new opportunities to progress.
The survey results indicate that potential candidates want a decent, stable wage, with 86% of respondents stating that money is the most important component of their job. 72% wanted a good pension scheme whilst 79% wanted 20+ holiday days a year.
